ENERGY ENGINEERING
The field of
Energy Engineering centers on the construction of energy systems.
Through modern technological processes, energy derived from its primary sources
is controlled, converted and made available for its various uses by our
increasingly energy-demanding society.
An energy system should be able to convert a form of energy into another one as
efficiently as possible.
Energy Engineering is an integrated technology based on a combination of the
fundamental disciplines in engineering: chemical, mechanical and electrical.
The major subjects for a professional in the field of Energy Engineering are
thermodynamics, materials engineering, fluid mechanics, electric circuits, and
control theory.
The reason for such requirements is that the field of Energy Engineering is very
broad and comprises fossil-fueled electric plants, hydroelectric plants, nuclear
plants and non-conventional electric systems.
