Alternative Energies is a rather broad category that  groups those energies that still don’t have a wide use and rely on new technologies. These energies will probably acquire a growing importance as the fossil fuel reserves are consumed. Some authors call them  “renewable” energies, but this term would include hydropower, which already is one of the main sources of energy.

Energies included by ENERGY WORLD in the Alternative Energies category are:

1. Solar Energy

2. Wind Energy

3. Ocean Energy

4. Geothermal Energy

5. Biomass

6. Hydrogen

Given the still small impact of these energies in the energy global market, the production and consumption graphs will display them as a group. But there are short texts explaining the basics of all of them.
